Shower Cork InstallationShower Cork Installation Instructions

Installation is similar to typical ceramic or mosaic tile installation using the glue then grout method. The existing substrate should be clean, including complete removal of vinyl tiles, old adhesives, loose or weak concrete, dirt, debris, and any other contaminant that may impact the bonding of the Cork Mosaic.

Step 1: Evenly spread adhesive across the prepared substrate. The substrate should be a clean surface, free from any debris.

Step 2: Carefully place each Shower Cork Mosaic sheet next to one another. Shower Cork Mosaic can be cut and shaped with a sharp utility knife.

Step 3: If staining the tiles, do so now.

Step 4: Apply two coats of polyurethane to the tiles.

Step 5: Evenly distribute an unsanded grout product with a high quality rubber trowel, making certain all joints are being completely filled. The finished joints should be uniformly smooth, without any voids or low spots.

Step 6: After the grout has been cleaned, finish the installation of the Jelinek Cork Mosaic by evenly applying two additional coats of polyurethane.

Some color variation may occur among individual tiles due to the natural qualities of cork. The color of the tile can also be altered depending on the type of finish applied.
